(pl. kibbutzim). Communal settlement in modern Israel. Originally, kibbutzim had an agricultural they focused, on agriculture, but many of them they are now are engaged in a variety of activities including tourism, high-tech ventures, and other industries. Kibbutzim is the Hebrew plural for kibbutz.

Newly-crowned Australian Horse of the Year Weekend Hussler has been leniently treated in comparison to past champions Octagonal and Mahogany with 55.5kg in both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups due to his lack of a win over a staying distance.

- The Makings of History / Secrets of the olive trees. Writing her book "On the Road Side, on the Mind Side", geographer Noga Kadman began with the assumption that the Arab villages were pushed to the margins of Israeli discourse: The houses of the Arabs who lived there until 1948 are not mentioned. The Arabs who came back to rescue some of their property were considered thieves, and hunting them down was a source of income, as stated in a book that Kibbutz Carmia published on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of its establishment: A Yiron bulletin from 1949 states: "The facts show that men, women, old people and babies were murdered, villages were destroyed and burned down, with no justification. "

- Haaretz --- Kibbutz Kfar Giladi apologizes to families of troops killed there. After 12 IDF reservists were killed by a Katyusha rocket near the entrance of Kibbutz Kfar Giladi during the 2nd Lebanon War,: ... their friends and relatives became embroiled in a dispute with the kibbutz's administration about the circumstances of the deaths. The quarrel came closer to an end as the kibbutz sent a letter to the relatives expressing regret over statements made during the war about IDF troops, seemingly referring to the kibbutz's allegation that the soldiers' complacency played a part in their deaths. In the letter, the kibbutz wrote that the statements were not actually made in reference to the fallen soldiers' unit.
